Graduate Research Grants
Graduate Research Assistance Grants are available to graduate students in the humanities and related disciplines in the Case Western Reserve University College of Arts and Sciences to help defray expenses associated with dissertation-level research but not covered by departmental funds.
Small grants of up to $500 are available to graduate students in the arts and humanities to help defray expenses associated with MA thesis and dissertation research but not covered by departmental funding. Funds will be awarded after ink-original receipts and final report have been submitted to the Baker-Nord Center. Please note that funds are available only as reimbursement.
Awards will be announced in November, 2009.
Eligibility
Full-time Ph.D. students and second year M.A. students in the arts and humanities in the College of Arts and Sciences, Case Western Reserve University, are eligible for this grant.
Reporting
Final reports are due to the center upon completion of funded research.

To apply, please assemble the following information and send it the address below.
» Completed application cover sheet
» Description of project that includes the following: brief summary of the proposed dissertation research project, including the current status of the project; description of the proposed research/conference for which the research grant is sought, and brief description of proposed itinerary, dates and locations of travel. No more than three pages, typed, double spaced).
» One-page bibliography containing works of primary concern to the proposed topic.
» Letter of recommendation from the applicant's dissertation advisor or research director. In addition to commenting on the merits of the project, this letter should specify the applicant's current status in the respective Ph.D. program in terms of completion of requirements and submission/approval of the dissertation prospectus. This letter must be sealed and signed across the flap and must be returned to the applicant for inclusion with the application.
» Estimated budget (no more than one page).
