imageGifts to the College Fund, the annual fund for the College of Arts and Sciences, provide critical, unrestricted support that can be directed toward the college’s most pressing needs. The College Fund gives the dean and department chairs the flexibility to respond to emerging needs, whether that’s aiding a student who needs emergency scholarship support or giving start-up funding to a faculty interdisciplinary workgroup pursuing a promising line of research.

And your generous contribution helps raise the value of your education; alumni giving is a key factor in the U.S. News & World Report university rankings.

Gifts to the College Fund allow us to support numerous student-focused initiatives, including scholarships, travel, research, conferences and colloquia. College Fund donations recently have been used by:

  • The Department of Art History to support the Cleveland Symposium, the oldest student-run symposium in the United States;
  • The Department of Astronomy to send undergraduate and graduate students to collect data at observatories in Arizona, Texas and the Canary Islands;

  • The Department of English to establish the Community Writing Assistance Program, which provides tutoring to adults in communities surrounding the university;
  • The Department of Physics to provide annual undergraduate prizes for research and academic achievements.
