College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Awards Program

This year marks the inaugural presentation of the Alumni Awards Program of the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. The purpose of these awards is to recognize graduates of the college and its predecessor schools (Adelbert College, Cleveland College, Flora Stone Mather College, Western Reserve College, and the math and science programs of the Case Institute of Technology) and to:

  • Celebrate their achievements
  • Honor the legacy of excellence
  • Encourage and inspire future alumni

 

AWARDS

Distinguished Alumni Award

This is the highest honor bestowed upon an alumnus or alumna of the College of Arts and Sciences or its predecessor schools. It recognizes alumni who have distinguished themselves with distinct achievements in their professions or community service and have made significant contributions through demonstrated leadership.

 

Distinguished Service Award

This award recognizes a dedicated alumnus or alumna for his or her outstanding volunteer service to the community since graduation, and for professional excellence in his or her career.

 

Young Alumni Award

This award recognizes alumni (graduates of the last decade and/or age 40 or younger) who have had outstanding achievements and accomplishments early in their career.

 

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking nominees for the Distinguished Alumni Award, the Distinguished Service Award, and the Young Alumni Award.

Please send nominations to Sharon Jordan-Davis, executive director of constituent relations, by April 15, 2014.  Nominations will be accepted via email at sharon.jordan-davis@cwru.edu.

 

Nomination Format:

Alumni, faculty, staff and students of the College of Arts and Sciences may make nominations. Nominators should submit the following:

  • Letter stating the nomination category and establishing the candidate’s qualifications with clear and concise detail
  • The nominee’s resume or vita
  • Contact information, including a current address
  • Three letters of support for the nomination from others
  • Any additional information that would substantiate the nomination.

 

Recognition:

Award recipients will be recognized at Saturday’s Dean’s Brunch, as well as at other events, during Homecoming Weekend. Recipients may also receive recognition in Homecoming Weekend literature and college publications, and on the college website.

 

Nominating committee:

Members of the college community will be invited to participate by the College of Arts and Sciences Office of Development and External Relations. The committee will review and make recommendations to the Office of Development and External Relations.
