Alumni, students and families celebrate Homecoming 2017

A successful Homecoming and Reunion Weekend was had by all October 5-8.

On Friday, Dean Cyrus C. Taylor delivered a State of the College update to alumni and friends, sharing news and answering questions about academics, facilities and student life.

On Saturday morning, the College of Arts and Sciences teamed up with the Case Alumni Association to host a brunch at the beautiful Cleveland Botanical Garden, featuring student jazz musicians. After the brunch, we headed to Juniper Road for the Homecoming parade watch.

After that, students, parents and alumni swarmed our booth at the football tailgate, posing for pictures at our photo booth. To celebrate the present and honor our past, we gave away College of Arts and Sciences buttons, as well as ribbons for alumni from our predecessor institutions: Adelbert College, Flora Stone Mather College, Cleveland College, Western Reserve College and and the science and mathematics programs of Case Institute of Technology.

We also handed out College of Arts and Sciences foam fingers to wave at the football game, where the Spartans defeated the Bethany Bisons 33-3!

On Saturday evening, at an all-class reception, we honored the college’s 2017 Alumni Award Winners and announced the Reunion Giving Challenge¬†winners. This year, the Class of 1967 raised the most dollars and the Class of 1957 had the highest class participation.
