Republican National Convention provides first-hand journalism experience

Seven CWRU English and political science students had a unique opportunity to cover the Republican National Convention as fully credentialed journalists. Led by Jim Sheeler, the Shirley Wormser Professor of Journalism and Media Writing, they covered the RNC for various McClatchy news outlets, including The Fresno Bee, The Bradenton Herald, The Telegraph and The Bellingham Herald. The students interviewed delegates and met fellow journalists, including legendary Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein.
