The College of Arts and Sciences hosted a welcome reception for class of 2019 students on Tuesday. The students enjoyed popcorn and root beer floats while they got the chance to meet professors and learn more about the programs that are offered.
The class of 2019 is the most competitive yet, with only 36% of applicants being admitted. Of the 1,250 students, 22% are Ohioans and 15% are international students. The class offers a worldwide presence, with students from 21 countries and 40 states.
The students already have an impressive list of accomplishments, from playing in a Grammy Award-winning band to designing a solar-powered car.
