A concentration in Global Ethnic Studies allows students to compose a program of ETHS-related courses that are outside of African American, African, or Latino/Latin American Studies. Students who choose this concentration may focus on, for example, theories regarding immigration, racism, or minority group status in the United States or in any given country. Another possibility may be the study of other non-Western cultures such as those in the Arab world or in Central Asia. A program of study is determined in consultation with an ETHS faculty advisor. Two of the program’s study abroad options may be of particular interest to students in this concentration: ETHS 349: The Arab World Experience, FRCH 308: The Paris Experience.
