There is no limit on the number of ENGL 368 credits a CWRU undergrad can earn.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">ENGL 368\u2014TOPICS IN FILM courses include <a title=\"History of Film\" href=\"http:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/robert-spadoni\/history-of-film\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">History of Film<\/a>, <a title=\"Horror Film\" href=\"http:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/robert-spadoni\/horror-film\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Horror Films<\/a>, Major Filmmakers at Work, <a title=\"Films of Alfred Hitchcock\" href=\"http:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/robert-spadoni\/hitchcock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Films of Alfred Hitchcock<\/a>, <a title=\"American Cinema History\" href=\"http:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/robert-spadoni\/american-cinema-history-culture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Cinema History &amp; Culture<\/a>, <a title=\"Introduction to Film Genres\" href=\"http:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/robert-spadoni\/intro-to-film-genres\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Film Genres<\/a>, <a title=\"Science Fiction Films\" href=\"http:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/robert-spadoni\/science-fiction-films\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Science Fiction Films<\/a>, Shakespeare and Film, Classic American Novels on Film, Latin American Cinema, <a title=\"Watching Movies\" href=\"http:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/robert-spadoni\/watching-movies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Watching Movies<\/a>, Film Music, and <a title=\"Storytelling &amp; CInema\" href=\"http:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/robert-spadoni\/storytelling-and-cinema\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Storytelling &amp; Cinema<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ENGL 368C\u2014TOPICS IN FILM CAPSTONE\u00a0(up to 3 credits) Read about <a href=\"https:\/\/artsci.case.edu\/film\/film-capstone\/\">requirements of the film capstone<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>ENGL 316\u2014SCREENWRITING\u00a0(up to 3 credits)<\/li>\n<li>ENGL 309\u2014IMMERSION JOURNALISM\/MULTIMEDIA STORYTELLING (up to 3 credits)<\/li>\n<li>ELECTIVE COURSES\u00a0(up to 3 credits)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\">Courses that have counted as electives toward the film concentration include: African-American History in and through Film, French and African Cinema, Latin American Cinema, Black Religion &amp; Film, The Hollywood Musical, Topics in German Cinema, Film Music, The Hollywood Musical, Jewish Image in Popular Culture, Sword &amp; Sandal: The Ancient Mediterranean in Film, James Bond &amp; Popular Culture, Classics in Film, Bollywood &amp; Social Justice, Video Production, and Folklore &amp; Myth in Japanese Film.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\">Students interested in having one of these courses or another course count as an elective should contact <a title=\"Robert Spadoni\" href=\"http:\/\/casfaculty.case.edu\/robert-spadoni\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Robert Spadoni<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Other Details<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 3 credits of the film concentration can count toward another\u00a0English major concentration.<\/li>\n<li>No fewer than 6 of the 9 credits making up the concentration must be earned through coursework at CWRU.<\/li>\n<li>STUDENTS MAJORING IN ENGLISH and also TAKING A LOT OF FILM COURSES will occasionally run up against the 42-credit limit of ENGL courses that can count toward graduating.
