[vc_row][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_tta_tabs color=”mulled-wine” active_section=”1″ no_fill_content_area=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”Study Abroad” tab_id=”1546531453892-f610e95f-a9c9″][vc_column_text]International Studies majors are encouraged to study abroad.\u00a0 CWRU offers a variety of programs ranging from visiting a foreign country as part of a CWRU course, to enrolling in a summer foreign language program, to spending an academic year at a foreign university.\u00a0 Many majors complete both short-term and long-term programs.<\/p>\n

Courses completed during study abroad can be used toward the area, topical, and elective requirements for International Studies.<\/p>\n

Students are encouraged to explore study abroad options early.\u00a0 Students should request an appointment with a CWRU Study Abroad Advisor in the Office\u00a0of\u00a0Education Abroad<\/a>\u00a0and share their area, topical, and other interests in advance of the meeting. Schedule an appointment by emailing\u00a0studyabroad@case.edu<\/a>. Study abroad advisors\u00a0provide guidance about selecting a program, obtaining CWRU credit, financing time abroad, and planning to live overseas.\u00a0 Students will also find it helpful to seek the advice of the International Studies director<\/a> and CWRU faculty who share their interests.<\/p>\n

Step-by-step instructions for scheduling a meeting with the Study Abroad office:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Navigate to the <\/span>Office of Education Abroad<\/span><\/a> website.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Scroll down the home page and click on the \u201cSchedule Now\u201d bar, which will direct you to <\/span>MyJourney<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. There, click on \u201cSchedule an Appointment,\u201d then \u201cTeams,\u201d then scroll down to find the \u201cStudy Abroad\u201d team option.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Once there, select the a topic from the drop down menu that most closely aligns with your needs, e.g. \u201cResearch & Internships.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Finally, select from the available meeting options, organized by date and time.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    [\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Global Opportunities for International Studies Students” tab_id=”1787433353672-3c6bfd25-a873″][vc_column_text]International Studies students have participated in semester, summer, and faculty-led programs across more than 35 countries spanning six continents, including destinations throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, Oceania, and the Middle East. These global experiences allow students to deepen their understanding of international issues while developing intercultural competence, language skills, and perspectives that extend beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n

    Opportunities include direct enrollment at leading international universities, internships abroad, and faculty-led courses exploring topics such as global health, international management, public policy, bioethics, sustainability, language and culture, social justice, archaeology, economics, and international development. Students have studied at institutions including King\u2019s College London, Sciences Po, Yonsei University, the National University of Singapore, and the University of Sydney, while also participating in immersive programs in locations such as Morocco, Uganda, Costa Rica, Jordan, Thailand, and Poland.<\/p>\n

    Through these experiences, International Studies students gain the global awareness, adaptability, and cross-cultural skills that prepare them for careers and further study in an increasingly interconnected world.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][\/vc_tta_tabs][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
