\nFriday, October 10th, 7:30p.m. at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Taiwan-native, Liu Ruo-Yu composed \u201cSword of Wisdomm,\u201d which features wooden and metal percussion and Gurdjief Movements (the sacred dance). Tickets can be purchased here.<\/p>\n

Fellowship for East Asian language study abroad <\/a>
\nThe Blakemore Freeman Fellows Program funds an academic year of advanced language study abroad of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and selected Southeast Asian languages. An applicant must have (at minimum) a bachelor’s degree and have completed at least three years of study of the language at the college level by the start of the grant. Between Observation and Appropriation: Venetian Encounters with a Fragmentary Classical Past<\/a>
\nWednesday, October 8th, 6:00p.m. at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Patricia Fortini Brown, Professor Emerita of Art History, Princeton University, will deliver a lecture, drawing from her research on Venice and its empire, from the late middle ages through the early modern period.<\/p>\n

Hanna Associate Professor of Political Science at Case Western Reserve University, in a conversation on the origins of ISIS and its place in political Islam.
