Study the Development, Evaluation and Improvement of Public Policy<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Public Policy Analysts work in government agencies, for interest groups, in \u201cthink-tanks\u201d and in other jobs. They analyze proposed policies in terms of values such as equity and efficiency, and practical matters such as whether they can be administered well and their political prospects. The best analysts help not only to analyze other peoples\u2019 proposals and respond to problem but to generate alternatives for decision-makers. The skills of public policy analysis are also useful in more specialized fields such as Public Health, Urban Planning, and Social Work.<\/p>\n

The Public Policy Program Minor is designed to give students an introduction to both a professional field and a portion of the social world. The field has to some extent supplanted the older discipline of Public Administration.<\/p>\n
