As we move to the beginning of the fall semester with planned field placements for our teacher candidates, we, at Case Western Reserve University, want to assure you that we are taking multiple precautions to ensure the health and safety of our students and those with whom they come into contact.<\/p>\n
For students seeking teacher licensure, and who are scheduled to be hosted at an area school to complete field placement requirements, CWRU is adhering to the Ohio Department of Education publication: Reset and Restart, page 8, quoted below, where student teachers and college faculty observing those students are to be treated as school personnel.<\/p>\n
We understand that each school and district will have specific requirements for hosting field placement students and student teachers, along with their observing faculty. CWRU will adhere to each school\u2019s policies. Please communicate these directly to me, the Director of Teacher Education.\u00a0 Lastly, we would appreciate confirmation that our student teachers and staff will be treated as school personnel in the spring during their student teaching assignment. This confirmation can be communicated to each Program Director making the request or to me, the Director of Teacher Education.<\/p>\n
While meeting the needs of P-20 students, we encourage you to communicate directly with me if there is anything else we need to know or do to meet your needs and expectations.<\/p>\n
