Daniel Sigg is a senior scientist with the California Institute of Technology working at the LIGO Hanford Observatory in Washington state. He is responsible for coordinating the commissioning effort at Hanford and for bringing the Advanced LIGO detector to full sensitivity. He got his Ph.D. degree in physics from ETH Zurich in Switzerland. He joined the LIGO project in 1995 as a postdoctoral scholar of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His current research interests include gravitational wave astrophysics, precision measurements and large scale optical interferometers.
