AEAweb: Grant Support for Economists
The AEAweb, provided by the American Econoimic Association, provides information on funding for economists and the opportunity for organizations, institutions, and agencies to post information on grants available for economic research.
American Psychological Foundation
APF is seeking to seed innovation through supporting projects and programs that use psychology to solve social problems. APF grants align with our mission of enhancing psychology to elevate the human condition and advance human potential. We offer grants for early career funding and seed grants for research and for targeted programs.
American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS)
The mission of ACLS is “the advancement of humanistic studies in all fields of learning in the humanities and the social sciences and the maintenance and strengthening of relations among the national societies devoted to such studies.” ACLS offers fellowships and grants in more than a dozen programs for research in the humanities and related social sciences at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels.
Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation (HFG)
HFG welcomes proposals from any of the natural and social sciences and the humanities that promise to increase understanding of the causes, manifestations, and control of violence, aggression, and dominance. HFG awards research grants to individuals for individual projects only. In addition to its support for postdoctoral research, ten or more dissertation fellowships are awarded each year to individuals who will complete the writing of the dissertation within the award year.
H-Net Funding Annoucements
An international consortium of scholars and teachers, H-Net creates and coordinates Internet networks with the common objective of advancing teaching and research in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
Institute for Humane Studies (IHS)
IHS advances a freer society by discovering and facilitating the development of talented, productive students, scholars, and other intellectuals who share an interest in liberty. It awards scholarships and research fellowships to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as funding to graduate students and untenured faculty for career-enhancing activities.
National Science Foundation (NSF)
NSF provides grants and awards to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows for social, behavioral, and economic research, among other program areas.
Russell Sage Foundation
The Russell Sage Foundation is the principal American Foundation devoted exclusively to research in the social sciences. Located in New York City, it is a research center, a funding source for studies by scholars at other academic and research institutions, and an active member of the nation’s social science community. It offers postdoctoral funding through its Research Programs and Visiting Scolars Program.
Social Science Research Council (SSRC)
SSRC is an independent nonprofit organization devoted to the advancement of social science research and scholarship. Founded in New York City in 1923 as the world’s first national coordinating body of the social sciences, it is today an international resource for interdisciplinary, innovative public social science. It offers various grants and fellowships for predoctoral and postdoctoral work.
Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research
The Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, Inc. is a private operating foundation dedicated to the advancement of anthropology throughout the world. It has a variety of grant programs for anthropological research and scholarship — including for doctoral-level research and for conferences/workshops — that are open to applicants irrespective of nationality or country of residence.
Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (WWICS)
WWICS supports research in the social sciences and humanities. It offers 9-month residential fellowships to academics, public officials, journalists, and business professionals. Fellows conduct research and write in their areas of interest, while interacting with policymakers in Washington and Center staff. The Center also hosts Public Policy Scholars and Senior Scholars who conduct research and write in a variety of disciplines.
Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation
Seeking to dignify the teaching profession, the Foundation offers Teaching Fellowships to encourage the most outstanding students to choose teaching as a career. It also offers fellowships to support future leaders at a variety of career stages in the fields of foreign affairs, education, women & gender, and religion & ethics.
