Introducing the Proposal Initiation Form

In an effort to provide comprehensive and timely support for proposal development and submission, the College is implementing a proactive research administration strategy using the Proposal Initiation Form.

The purpose of this tool is to facilitate communication between the faculty member, department administrator, department chair, and the management center regarding an upcoming proposal submission at the earliest point possible and with the submission of a single form.

Advance knowledge of the intent to submit a proposal will allow the department level grants administrator and the management center to plan accordingly to provide support for successful submission. It will also, allow for the timely and thoughtful consideration of special requests, such as a waiver of the federal IDC rate, a space modification request, approval of cost-sharing or a course release.

The Proposal Initiation Form should be completed and submitted by a faculty member as soon as possible after deciding to write the proposal.
