Expertise: Modern U.S. History, History of Student Activism

David S. Busch is a modern American historian with interests in social movements, democracy, and higher education. Portions of his research have appeared in Diplomatic History and The History of Education Quarterly. Busch is also interested in the pedagogical and research potential of the digital humanities. As an extension of his research, Busch uses mapping software, digital archives, and oral history videos to reconstruct the infrastructure of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), the Mississippi Freedom Summer, and student activism in the 1960s.
