Hayley Jannielli (she/they) is an educator, actor, director and voice coach joining Case’s faculty after a decade of living and working in New York City.

A designated Linklater Voice teacher, Hayley was the Head of Voice & Speech for CAP21, Molloy University’s esteemed B.F.A. musical theatre program. She has taught Acting, Voice, Speech, and Improvisation for New York University (The Lee Strasberg Studio), Long Island University (The New Group), Maggie Flanigan Studio, and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Hayley recently served as voice & text coach for A Knock on the Roof at New York Theatre Workshop directed by Obie award-winner Oliver Butler.

Hayley was a professional ballet dancer, training in her teens at the School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet. Her pedagogy is a direct response to and rebellion against the perfectionistic, competitive, and hierarchal culture she encountered in the world of classical ballet. Her personal journey as an artist has been one of unwinding the physical and personal rigidity of her dancer programming and accessing bold and truthful creative expression. Embodiment, connection, vulnerability and play are the cornerstones of what Hayley aims to cultivate in the classroom and beyond.

Hayley was the Swing and Dance Captain on the National Tour of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and played Lady Macbeth for 300 performances of Drunk Shakespeare Off-Broadway. Other stage credits include Big Alison in Fun Home (Mill Mountain Theatre), Tanya in Mamma Mia! (Mill Mountain Theatre), Suzanne in The Good Adoptee (JMTC Theatre), Maria in Twelfth Night (New Swan Shakespeare), The Nurse in Romeo and Juliet (New Swan Shakespeare), Brooke u.s. in Legally Blonde at PCPA Theaterfest, and Rosalind in As You Like It (Davis Shakespeare).

Born and raised in San Diego CA, Hayley earned her M.F.A. in Acting from the University of California Irvine where she studied with Phil Thompson and Andrea Caban of KT Speechwork. She completed a year of Meisner training at The William Esper Studio and has an extensive improv background, training with Joe Bill and Tara DeFrancisco at iO Chicago. She is a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA and offers private voice and acting coaching through her company MOVEO Voice (www.MoveoVoice.com)
