Sarah received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory and Composition at the University of Tennessee in 1999, graduating with honors. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Music from UT in Music Technology in 2003, again graduating with honors. Her research focused on the relationship between demographics and music theory placement levels of incoming freshmen. She moved to Cleveland in 2008 to be the IT Coordinator for the Music Department at CWRU. Previously taught classes include Digital Music: Composition and Production, which guides students through the process of writing, recording, and producing a song digitally, and Technology in Music Teaching and Learning, which teaches future educators how to effectively integrate technology into the music classroom.

In 2014 Sarah joined the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office IT Services team, now part of [U]Tech, as the Web Services Manager. She manages the College of Arts and Sciences web content management system which runs on WordPress, creates engaging and dynamic web content for the College and its departments, and develops WordPress plugins and web-based tools to improve workflow and productivity.

Sarah is an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician, Apple Certified Support Professional, and Apple Certified Technical Coordinator, and is active in the open-source WordPress community.
