After launching their first community outreach project in November, the Department of English is already midway through a second project. Under the guidance of Mary Assad, alumna of the department and now lecturer, they are currently supporting the Cleveland affiliate of Reach Out and Read to promote early childhood literacy by donating a wishlist of books written by a diverse group of authors.
Since joining the department in 2015, Calandruccio has contributed to the advancement of the understanding and approach to working with and rehabilitating people that are hard-of-hearing. With this professorship, she will be able to pilot innovative ideas that could lead to exciting advances in hearing science.
Was Judas Iscariot given a bad rap? The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House (CWRU/CPH) MFA Acting Program explores this question and more in its first remote production, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis. The play runs from December 2-6 at 7 p.m.
In November, the Department of Theater will debut “20/20 (hindsight),” an original production written and performed by students and directed by Shanna Beth McGee, professor in the Department of Theater.
