Q: Why did you choose this area of study?
A: Cooking with family was an important part of my childhood, and before coming to CWRU I wanted to become a registered dietitian. However, throughout my undergraduate training my interests in nutrition shifted towards the basic sciences, and I became fascinated by the biochemical aspects of metabolism and energy balance. My research at the CWRU School of Medicine on obesity-associated cancers strengthened this passion, so I changed my major from Human Nutrition to Nutritional Biochemistry, accordingly. Through...

A: It combines my passion and love for learning about human health and the way humans think and process information. The two coincided immensely well together.

A: Cognitive science is an important trans-disciplinary area of study in which I am continuously learning that I have much yet to learn.
