The Harvey Buchanan Lectureship in Art History and Museum Studies Supplementary Fund was established on December 13, 2016. The fund was made possible thanks to a bequest from the Estate of D. Harvey Buchanan, Professor Emeritus of Humanities in the Department of Art History. Mr. Buchanan’s donation is meant to support and supplement The Harvey Buchanan Lectureship in Art and The Humanities, which was established on June 11, 1988 to create a guest lectureship in the Department of Art and Art History.

The Harvey Buchanan Lectureship in Art History and Museum Studies Supplementary Fund will increase the scholarly effectiveness of the existing lectureship by funding the publication of its lectures when appropriate, by enhancing the scholarly visibility of the CWRU/ Cleveland Museum of Art joint program, and by supporting additional lectures, if desired.
