Winter Break
Have an enjoyable and relaxing winter break!  Once you have re-energized, consider doing the following before the start of classes.

  • Apply for advertised summer or post-graduation positions.
  • Make a list of other organizations to which you will apply.  See your fall advising meeting notes, these resources, and newsletter archives.
  • Draft template cover letters and resumés.
  • Update your LinkedIn profile.  See these tips for INTL majors.
  • Make a list of funding opportunities to which you will apply.
  • Develop your checklist for applying for funding.
  • Discuss with your mentor (if you are a junior or senior) your summer and/or post-graduation plans.

Sigma Iota Rho Call for Papers
SIR’s Journal of International Relations is accepting article submissions for its spring 2021 journal.  Seniors, consider submitting your capstone paper. The deadline is January 31, 2021.

Cleveland Foundation Summer Internship
Intern at a Cleveland-area non-profit or public agency, some of which do international work, in this paid internship.  International Studies majors have held this position. Application deadline is February 1, 2021.

Cleveland Foundation Fellowship
College graduates can apply for this paid fellowship in which they work at a public sector agency, some of which do international work.  International Studies alumni have held this position. Application deadline is February 15, 2021.

Center for Strategic and International Studies
CSIS is offering several remote internships focused on different countries and topics. International Studies alumni interned here as majors. Applications are being accepted until positions are filled.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Internship
Chamber of Commerce interns engage in research, writing, database management, and more. Spring internships will be virtual, and some are foreign-focused. Applications for spring 2021 are currently being accepted.

Cato Institute Summer Internship
The Cato institute provide students with paid, policy research internships some with a foreign focus. Applications for summer 2020 close February 15, 2021.

Global Economic Outlook 2021
January 13, 2021, 6:00-7:15 p.m., Virtual
Nicolas Véron of the Peterson Institute for International Economics will discuss the global economy and its post-pandemic rebound. Register in advance.
