Cargill Global Scholars Program
A two-year scholarship program that provides financial support to full-time undergraduates who are citizens/permanent legal residents of the US, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, or Russia.

TFA’s Ignite Fellowship
Current college students lead virtual, small-group tutoring sessions with students during the school day while partnering with veteran educators. This is a part-time, paid, virtual opportunity. Applications are due December 18.

Call for Student Papers: What challenges awaken your conscience?
The Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest invites undergraduates to write essays about ethics. This year’s open prompt is: What challenges awaken your conscience?

Marcellus Policy Fellowship
The John Quincy Adams Society developed the Marcellus Policy Fellowship to help the next generation of US leaders develop the ideas and skills necessary to guide US foreign policy. Applications are due January 8.

LevelUp Gov: A Public Service Marketing Challenge
Gen Zers with a passion for public service and a flair for marketing, social media, or design can help inspire early-career technologists to pursue career opportunities in the federal government. Submissions are due January 8.

Foreign Affairs Information Technology Fellowship
The FAIT Fellowship is a two-year fellowship providing academic funding for an IT-related degree, internships, professional development and mentorship. This fellowship is a path to a Foreign Service Information Management Specialist career. The deadline to apply is February 3.

International Scholarship Program
The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad. The application deadline is March 9, 2023.

Think: Global Need-Based Study Abroad Scholarship
Students can apply for the CWRU think: global Need-Based Study Abroad Scholarship. The application deadline is March 15, 2023.

Asia

Intercollegiate U.S. – China Journal
UCJ’s core mission is to improve understanding of the United States and China’s domestic and international affairs—including security, politics, culture, technology, economics, and the environment—through scholarly exchange. Priority deadline is December 18.

Japan-American Student Conference – Applications Open
JASC will bring together an equal number of American and Japanese university students to live, travel, facilitate meaningful conversations, and develop personal research together. Applications are due December 24.

World Languages

Amistad (Spanish Conversation Hour)
Every Friday, 12:30 – 2:00 p.m., Guilford Lounge 223.
Join Amistad Group and share Spanish talks with friends and classmates.  All levels are welcome, from beginners to natives.

Korean Speaking Skills
The Korean American Student Association (KASA) is continuing Korean classes this year. Classes are on Zoom, taught by fellow students, and personalized to the participants. All levels are welcome.
