“There are so many skills relevant to a career in international development.  These include research—using both quantitative and qualitative methods; writing—authoring reports and website content; teaching and community development—exchanging and expanding others’ skills and opportunities is the core of development; donor relations—paying the bills and responding to client demands is critical; and overseas experience—gaining new knowledge every time one encounters a new culture, language, community, or country.  This list is not exhaustive; keep in mind that flexibility is key.”
