International Studies Capstone Presentations

Sigma Iota Rho Application
Applications for the International Studies Honor Society, Sigma Iota Rho, are now open! All upper-class students
are eligible to apply. Eligible sophomores may apply for adjunct membership. Apply by December 4.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Internship
U.S. Chamber of Commerce internships offer opportunities in research, writing, and database management, several of which have an international focus. Spring 2021 applications are currently being accepted.

En Voz Alta
Students identifying as Hispanic/Latinx are eligible to apply for this international security and diplomacy mentoring program. Applications for the 2021 cohort are due December 4, 2020.

American Enterprise Institute Internships
AEI provides 10-week internships in various departments to undergraduate students. Spring applications for remote internships are accepted on a rolling basis until December 11, 2020.

USAID LPA Internship
USAID’s Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs offers internships in outreach and communications for USAID’s bureaus. Summer applications are due December 15, 2020.

Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellowship
This paid fellowship provides recent graduates with the opportunity to work in Cleveland at a public service organization, some of which focus on foreign countries or cultures. Applications for the 2021-2022 fellowship are due January 27, 2020.

Careers in the Foreign Service

WACA 2020 National Conference

Fellowship for Service in India
The American India Foundation connects service fellows with host organizations in India. Applications for the 2021-2022 fellowship cycle accepted beginning November 2020.

Japan-America Student Conference
US and Japanese students analyze the US-Japan relationship while visiting both countries. Scholarships are available. Deadline for the Summer 2021 Conference is December 11, 2020.

Diwali Dinner

The Undergraduate Indian Student Association is offering both virtual and in-person festivities to celebrate Diwali. Pickup an Indian dinner at Thwing, attend a virtual cooking session, and more.

Crisis in the U.S.-China Relationship
November 18, 6:00-7:15 p.m., Virtual
Join retired senior U.S. diplomat Susan Thornton for a discussion on the future of U.S.-China relations. The event is free, but advanced registration is required.

Europe
Humanity in Action Fellowship 
College graduates spend a year in the U.S. or Europe examining human rights, democracy, and structural injustice. Applications are due January 5, 2020.

PierogiFest
November 12-15, 4:00-10:00 p.m.
Visit the Northeast Ohio Polish Marketplace for a four-day showcase featuring Polish food from multiple vendors. PierogiFest will abide by state and federal COVID-19 restrictions.
