High school students participating in the Model UN conference

International Studies majors and fellow CWRU students hosted a two-day Model United Nations conference for 536 Ohio high school students in November.  The high school students discussed environmental refugees, the use of chemical weapons, and the regulation of unmanned aerial vehicles, among other topics.

International Studies major Jason Guo ’21 served as Undersecretary General and major Hanna Paris ’22 helped run the event in her capacity as an intern at the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, a co-host of the event.  This was the fifth CWRU Model UN high school conference.  CWRU Model UN is popular with International Studies majors.  Others active in the organization include Andoni Barrica ’20, Anna Cormier ’23, Nathan Rudhe ’22, Colby Saxton ’20, and Sruthi Venkatachalam ’20.
