Owen Klingenberg welcomes you to the dean’s office

If you’ve ever visited the College of Arts and Sciences’ dean’s suite, you may have met Owen Klingenberg when you first stepped off the elevator on the 7th floor of Crawford Hall.

Owen joined the dean’s office in March 2023 and in his role he provides direct administrative support to the college’s associate deans, collaborates with program staff on their office tasks and manages the general office needs for the college.

We asked Owen a few questions so you can get to know him a bit better.

Why did you choose CWRU?
I chose CWRU because I’ve lived in Cleveland for nearly a decade and have fond associations with the university; my partner is a CWRU graduate and I always appreciated the sense of community I experienced when I would visit.

What did you do prior to joining CWRU?

Prior to joining CWRU, I was managing a family owned Pizzeria in Little Italy.

What do you like most about your role?

I most enjoy that every day is different. It’s very gratifying to be helping a broad range of people in unique ways.

What do you look forward to in your professional career?
I like doing meaningful work and gathering professional experience. I’m always excited to learn better ways of collaborating towards shared goals.

Do you have any personal goals, hobbies, family, interests that you would like to share?
I own the world’s most ridiculous Shiba Inu (who happens to be the winner of the 2021 #CWRUDogDaysOfSummer contest!) and look forward to someday owning the world’s 2nd most ridiculous Shiba Inu.
