Passion for higher education leads Beatriz Ibañez to the College of Arts and Sciences

Joining Case Western Reserve University was something Beatriz Ibañez saw as a unique opportunity.

“The university’s commitment to diversity and interdisciplinary collaboration will allow me to work alongside exceptional individuals from different areas, fostering an environment of innovation and collective impact,” said Ibañez, the College of Arts and Sciences new associate dean of strategic initiatives, finance and administration.

She joins Case Western Reserve from Wilmington College where she served as chief business and finance officer for the private, 1,200-student university. Previously, she held senior business leader roles with Emory University and University of Cincinnati.

“As someone passionate about collaboration and making a difference, Case Western Reserve offers an ideal opportunity to work in a prestigious institution with a meaningful mission,” Ibañez said.

In her role as associate dean, Ibañez serves as the chief financial and operations officer for the college. She’s responsible for managing the college’s strategic planning, benchmarking, financial planning, reporting, forecasting and operations for facilities and space management. We sat down with Ibañez to learn more about her career and personal life.
