Critical Language Scholarship Program
This is an intensive language and cultural immersion program that allows students to pick one of 15 languages to study overseas. Applications are due November 27.

Samuel Huntington Public Service Award
Graduating college seniors can apply for a $15,000 stipend to pursue a year of public service anywhere in the world. Application is due January 18, 2019.

Cleveland Foundation Summer Internship Program
Apply by January 21 for this 11-week paid internship with Cleveland-area nonprofit and public sector organizations, including some with an international focus.

Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program
This six-week program offers students a greater understanding of careers in international affairs. Applications are due February 5, 2019.

Boren Scholarships
Scholarships for varying lengths of international study are available for students interested in national security. Applications are due February 7, 2019.

Rumi Forum Internships

Korean Consulate General Visit

JET Program
The JET Program offers post-graduate job opportunities in Japan. Numerous INTL alumni have participated in this program. Applications are due November 17.

Japanese Language Speech Contest
Showcase your Japanese language skills while competing for a scholarship and other prizes. Applications are due January 18, 2019 and the competition will take place in Dublin, OH on March 2, 2019.

Korea-America Student Conference
Students will have the opportunity to represent the U.S. in this academic and cultural exchange conference. The application deadline is December 31.

A Paris Education

FU-BEST Internship
Students interested in doing an internship in Berlin can apply for an 8-week placement on a full-time basis. Apply online by December 1.

Teaching Assistant Program in France
Spend seven months teaching English to French students of all ages. The application deadline for the 2019-20 school year is January 15, 2019.

Designing an Earthly Paradise
Exhibit open until January 13, 2019, Cleveland Museum of Art
This exhibit showcases textiles and books designed by British artist and novelist William Morris.

 

Latin America

Latin American News Digest
Students interested in writing about Latin America are invited to apply Spring 2019 internships. Applications are due November 26.

Amigos International Summer  Program
Spend 4-8 weeks volunteering in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, or Panama. The summer 2018 application deadline is December 3.

Armed Conflict and Peacebuilding in Colombia
Students interest in conflict resolution are invited to apply for this 3-week summer program. Program and scholarship applications are due by December 12.

InterReligious Task Force on Central America
Internships are available at this Cleveland-based interfaith group that promotes peace and human rights in Central America and Colombia. Apply online.

Israel’s Wars with Hamas: Lessons Learned from Asymmetric Wars
