After 17 years as art|sci magazine’s editor, Arthur Evenchik stepped down last summer to devote more time to communications projects for Dean Joy K. Ward and to his duties as coordinator of the Emerging Scholars Program. His successor, Sandy Livingston, has been editor of the university’s flagship publication, Think magazine, since 2014. The Graduate Council of Arts & Sciences (GCAS) has awarded five graduate students from the college with the inaugural Graduate Student Scholarship and Creative Endeavors (GSSCE) grant of $1,000 each.

Faculty members Lisa Huisman Koops and Nate Kruse, along with graduate students Jessica Steuver and Dennis Giotta, alumna Kelsey Kordella Giotta (CWR ‘20) and Julie Ballantyne from The University of Queensland, Australia, presented four research sessions and one poster session at the National Association for Music Education Biennial (NAfME) conference in November.
