Establish on March 21, 2017, the The James Stephen Swinehart, PhD, Professorial Teaching Fellowship in Chemistry was made possible thanks to a gift from Mrs. Ann Swinehart on behalf of the Swinehart family. 

This endowed fund provides support to a faculty-member, tenure-track or outside the tenure track, whose position is dedicated to teaching freshman and/or sophomore chemistry courses, with a preference to organic chemistry. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in teaching and/or research to qualify for selection.

The selected candidate receives financial support for teaching and engaging undergraduates, as well as, for professionally-related projects and activities.
