Center for Strategic & International Studies Internships
Paid internships for the summer and semesters are posted throughout the year, so monitor this web site.

Cleveland Council on World Affairs Summer Internship
The CCWA is currently accepting internships for summer 2020. Apply online.

International Economic Development Council
IEDC offers internships in economic development as well as other topics. Summer 2020 applications close February 15, 2020.

National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations Summer Internship
This program offers students a ten-week internship in the nation’s capital. The application deadline is February 21, 2020.

American Enterprise Institute Summer Honors Program
Intern at this Washington DC policy think tank, which examines foreign and defense policy, among other topics. The application deadline is February 24, 2020.

Brookings Institution
Internships at this think tank in Washington DC are offered in foreign policy and global economy and development, among other areas. Summer 2020 applications are due February 28, 2020.

The Carter Center Internships: Peace Programs
Several internships are available. Summer 2019 applications are due March 1, 2020.

U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Internships
The deadline to apply for a summer 2020 internship with Chairman James Risch is March 22, 2020 and with Ranking Member Bob Menendez is March 6, 2020.

Max Kampelman Fellowship Program
Fellows work directly with Congressional offices, executive branch officials, and foreign diplomats on foreign policy issues. Summer 2020 applications are due March 15, 2020.

Fund for Peace Internships
The FFP offers internships at their DC office for students interested in conflict analysis, peace building, security and human rights. Applications for Summer 2020 are due March 15, 2020.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Internships
A variety of DC-based internships are offered. Applications for Summer 2020 are due March 15, 2020.

The Rocks Summer Grant
Apply for CWRU’s The Rocks Experiential Learning Fellowship to fund summer 2020 internships and other opportunities.  Identify International Studies as a humanities major in the application, due March 6, 2020.

SOURCE-AHSS Summer Grant
This summer research grant can also be used toward internships.  Consider other grant competitions on the SOURCE web site too.  SOURCE-AHSS applications are due March 6, 2020.

ThinkEnergy Fellowship
Learn from faculty, entrepreneurs, investors, and officials about energy technology, policy, entrepreneurship, and research.  INTL alumni held this fellowship as majors and found it worthwhile.  2020-2021 cohort applications are due by 9am on March 9, 2020.

Research Journal Submissions
Students are invited to submit original research or review works from all fields for the Spring 2020 issue of Discussions: The Undergraduate Research Journal of CWRU.  Seniors, consider submitting your INTL 399 papers.

The Carter Center Internships: China Program
Internships focused on China are available. Summer 2020 applications are due March 1, 2020.

Nepal Reliance Organization
Teaching, medical, and public health internships, among others are available. Apply online.  An INTL alumna interned at this organization for her practicum.

Lunar New Year Celebration
February 8, 7:00-9:00pm, Thwing Center Ballroom
The Vietnamese Student Association hosts a Têt Celebration including a dinner and performances.  Student tickets are $7.

South Asian Music
February 8, 7:30-9:00pm, Maltz Performing Arts Center
CWRU’s South Asian fusion a capella group Dhamakapella performs. Tickets are free but required.

Japanese Language Speech Contest
Showcase your Japanese language skills while competing for a scholarship and other prizes. Applications are due February 7, 2020; the competition will take place in Dublin, OH March 14, 2020.
