Professor McMann is looking for majors to volunteer with her at the International Studies table at the Study Abroad Fair on Friday, September 11. Prospective majors find it very helpful to speak with current majors, so we hope you will consider this request. Japanese Language Proficiency Test Registration
The registration period for the 2015 Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) which will be administered in Columbus, OH on December 6, 2015is now open. The deadline for registering isSeptember 25, 2015 and can be done online. See the website for more information about the exam.

Blakemore Freeman Fellowships for Advanced Asian Language Study
Blakemore Freeman Fellowships provide grants for an academic year of advanced study of Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Burmese or Khmer. Applications are due byDecember 30, 2015 and can be completed online. Visit the website for more information.

Picturing Divination on Athenian Vases

“The stories told on Athenian vases have long been the subject of discussion among scholars of Greek antiquity. Dr. Sheramy Bundrick will discuss her research finding that more scenes depict the acts of divination than previously thought.”
